Overview
Exciting opportunity to complete the Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians through a 2-year apprenticeship at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals and a second placement site which will be confirmed 'll follow a rotational training programme across Dispensary, Wards, and Aseptic units, gaining the skills needed to register with the GPhC and become a qualified Pharmacy Technician.

Responsibilities- Dispense prescriptions and medicine requisitions for patients, wards and departments of the Trust following standard operating procedures under the supervision of a pharmacy technician.
- Prepare medicines aseptically or extemporaneously against an approved formulation following SOPs under the supervision of a pharmacy technician.
- Participate in the operation of efficient stock control and management systems for the various areas within the pharmacy, wards and departments.
- Participate in the full range of pharmaceutical services at the host NHS Trust.
- Maintain all necessary records including the use of computer equipment and comply with the Guide to Good Manufacturing Practice and other appropriate documents.
- Contribute to the smooth running of the department, including where necessary cover for other staff.
- Maintain safe systems of work at all times, including the knowledge of and abiding by fire precautions, departmental and trust safety policies and standard operating procedures.
- Work at other hospitals when necessary, for training and education purposes.
- Promote the professional image of pharmacy within the Trust by ensuring the standard of dress and behaviour reflect the professional service offered by the pharmacy department.
- Adhere at all times to the Learning Agreement.
- Participate fully in all the learning and study experiences made available via the scheme.
- Applicants must have 4 GCSEs (grade 4/C or above) including English Language, Maths, and a Science.
- You must be organised, reliable, and able to meet deadlines independently and in a team.
Training includes 3.5 days on-the-job and 1.5 days off-the-job learning, providing experience in dispensing, automated systems, ward-based services, and aseptic preparation, supporting excellent patient care.
