Mortuary Entry Level Technologist

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed Mortuary Entry Level Technologist to join our hardworking and friendly team.

Applications from those who are currently working towards completion of RSPH Level 3 certificate are also welcome.

• Enroll and fully participate in the Level 3 Anatomical Pathology Technologist course and complete all coursework and portfolio evidence on time.
• Undertake training to perform routine and complex post‑mortem procedures, including evisceration, dissection, and body reconstruction, following strict health and safety protocols under supervision.
• Work as part of a team providing a highly specialised clinical and technical paediatric and/or adult post‑mortem service.
• Assist the APT, Senior APT and pathologist in the diagnosis of the cause of death for SYBP cases and external referrals for coroner and hospital‑requested post‑mortems.
• Provide advice and support to bereaved relatives and medical staff.
• Carry out routine mortuary and post‑mortem duties under supervision in the mortuaries and post‑mortem suites on any of our sites as directed by senior staff.
• Ensure that all statutory obligations are met regarding the management of deceased individuals.
• Flexibility to cover other sites when needed.

• Currently working towards completion of RSPH Level 3 certificate is welcomed.
• Enrol and full participation in the Level 3 Anatomical Pathology Technologist course.
• Basic understanding of mortuary duties and willingness to undertake training.
