The Maternity Triage Manager role is an exciting opportunity to further your knowledge and experience and widen your scope for career progression.
You will be supported by peer managers and the senior management team to ensure you succeed and flourish throughout this opportunity.
You will be an experienced midwife and dynamic leader who will have overall responsibility for the efficient and effective management and leadership of the area of triage based at Doncaster site of Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals.
This is a Senior Midwifery role within the organisation and there is an expectation that the post holder will:
Create an environment where the patient is central to all decision making and the delivery of high quality, compassionate and safe care is everybody’s prime objective.
Coordinate and oversee the clinical activity, managerial and educational requirements within the clinical area to meet all performance standards and targets.
Through effective clinical leadership & role modelling inspire, motivate & empower others. This will require the post holder to be highly visible and to have an accessible approach for patients, their relatives/carers and staff.
This is a 12 months fixed term post.
As leader of a defined clinical area and an expert practitioner, liaise, guide and advise the multi disciplinary team and external agencies in the provision of optimum patient care.
Be responsible for ensuring the environment and ward processes are responsive to the needs of patients and their carers, recognising the importance of privacy, dignity and diversity.
Individuals will be highly visible in their clinical area, working alongside, and leading the team in a clinical supervisory role.
Maintain high levels of visibility to facilitate proactive communication with patients and carers.
Acting as a role model, employ professional behaviour that encourages and coaches their team members to challenge their current competencies, whilst seeking opportunities to enhance their roles. This includes the creation of a culture of appraisals and personal and professional development whilst setting clear smart objectives to meet the needs of the individual, clinical area and organisation.
Proactively maintain and foster clear lines of communication between the clinical staff and the SMT. Act as a conduit between ward staff to ensure effective communication between the SMT and the department.
