ABOUTTHE ROLE

are working with an established private hospital in Doncaster to recruit a Theatre Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner specialising in scrub.
The hospital provides a wide range of elective treatments and has a particularly strong reputation for orthopaedic surgery, including arthroscopy, hip replacement and knee replacement procedures.
You will work as part of an experienced multidisciplinary theatre team, providing efficient, individualised care and supporting consultants throughout the surgical pathway.
This position would suit an established scrub practitioner who takes pride in maintaining excellent clinical standards and delivering a positive patient experience.
THE PACKAGE- Salary up to £44,000, dependent on experience

- Working as a scrub practitioner across elective surgical lists
- Supporting a significant orthopaedic caseload
- Preparing instruments, equipment and consumables for theatre activity
- Anticipating the requirements of surgeons and the wider theatre team
- Completing surgical safety checks and maintaining accurate documentation
- Delivering safe, effective and individualised patient care
- Following clinical governance, infection prevention and safety procedures
- Managing equipment and consumable requirements for operating lists
- Working independently while contributing positively to the wider theatre team
- Supporting service development and continuous improvement
- Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
- Current experience working within scrub
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent patient care and customer service standards
- Good organisational and computer skills
- Ability to plan equipment and consumable requirements
- Flexible and positive approach to theatre activity
- Major orthopaedic scrub experience is highly desirable but not essential
- SFA qualification would be advantageous but is not essential
- ALS qualification would be desirable but is not essential
- Applicants from other surgical specialties will also be considered where they can demonstrate strong scrub competencies and a willingness to develop within orthopaedics.
This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week across the hospital’s theatre rota. Flexibility may be required around operating lists, including early starts, later finishes and occasional weekend working.
Candidates should also consider their journey to the hospital, as parking immediately beside the site can be limited during busy periods.
