We are expanding our Children’s Occupational Therapy service which supports children to maximise their potential within their homes and communities. We fully recognise the value and fundamental importance of Occupational Therapy in promoting children’s wellbeing, maximising independence, and supporting people to live meaningful lives.
The post holder will be working as an Occupational Therapist, supporting our Children’s Occupational Therapy service to:
- Promote independence and participation through the provision of equipment and adaptations, with a strong focus on moving and handling and safe practice.
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred Occupational Therapy interventions aimed at preventing, reducing and delaying the need for formal care and support.
- Having excellent interpersonal skills; work collaboratively with children, families, carers and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
- Manage a varied caseload, working both independently and as part of a supportive team.
- Effectively prioritise and organise your workload, balancing competing demands within a dynamic service.
The service operates over 5 days a week. Monday-Friday (no unsociable hours).
We welcome applicants who are newly qualified or returning to practice. We have a robust preceptorship scheme which supports accelerated progression within your grade. In addition, we have progression routes from a grade 8 to 9 which support staff to develop clinical expertise and leadership skills.
