Job Description & How to Apply Below

Overview

Jordans Solicitors LLP is seeking a standout Litigation Paralegal to join our expanding team. This isn’t your typical paralegal role.

You’ll work across dispute resolution, criminal law, miscarriages of justice, and prison law, gaining hands-on experience with complex, high-profile cases that genuinely change lives. From civil disputes to criminal appeals at the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, this role offers a rare breadth of work you won’t find elsewhere.

The Role
  • Probate and inheritance disputes
  • Property litigation (boundary disputes, landlord/tenant issues, land matters)
  • Commercial litigation
  • Criminal Law & Miscarriages of Justice:
  • – Investigating alleged miscarriages of justice and preparing appeals
  • – Drafting grounds of appeal and supporting CCRC applications
  • – Reviewing large volumes of evidence, trial transcripts, and forensic material
  • – Assisting with cases from the Crown Court through to the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court
  • Prison Law:
  • – Advising prisoners on categorisation, parole, and disciplinary proceedings
  • – Attending prison visits and taking detailed client instructions
  • – Preparing representations to the Parole Board and other bodies

Across all areas, you’ll be meeting clients and witnesses, preparing casework, undertaking legal research and drafting, assisting with hearings and conferences with counsel, and managing substantial volumes of case material.

What We’re Looking For
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and communication skills
  • Resilience, drive, and genuine commitment to meaningful legal work
  • Ability to analyse and manage complex, voluminous material
  • Based in South or West Yorkshire (or with strong ties to the area)
  • Willingness to travel nationally for client and prison visits
  • Flexibility for occasional out-of-hours work
  • Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential

We offer clear routes to qualification, including CILEx, Solicitor Apprenticeship, and a Training Contract.

Qualification support is not automatic and will be considered following a period of assessment within the role, based on performance, commitment, and development.

We actively invest in paralegals who demonstrate commitment, skill, and potential.

Why Join Us
  • Meaningful, high-profile cases that make a real difference to people’s lives
  • A firm investing in AI, innovation, and modern practice
  • Genuine qualification pathways and career development
  • Some flexibility in working arrangements (not a remote role)
