School Caretaker - Doncaster
Are you an experienced School Caretaker looking for your next opportunity in Doncaster?
Academics, an established education agency, are actively recruiting for a School Caretaker to join a secondary education setting in the Doncaster area on a temporary basis for the Autumn Term.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced School Caretaker in Doncaster to join a supportive site team and play an important role in maintaining a safe, secure and well-presented school environment.
About the RoleWorking as a School Caretaker in Doncaster, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day upkeep, maintenance and security of the school site.
The successful School Caretaker will work as part of a small team and carry out a range of practical duties to ensure the premises remain safe, functional and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors.
Your duties may include:- Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance
- Basic plumbing and carpentry work
- Painting and decorating where required
- Supporting with fire safety duties and site checks
- Maintaining outdoor areas and carrying out litter picking
- Assisting with the general security and upkeep of the school premises
- Working collaboratively with other members of the site team
- Monday to Thursday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
- Friday: 9:00am - 4:00pm
- 5 days per week
- Temporary role for the Autumn Term
- Availability to work during school holidays is essential
All mandatory training will be provided.
School Caretaker RequirementsTo be considered for this School Caretaker role in Doncaster, you should have:
- Previous caretaking, maintenance, facilities or site management experience
- Practical experience carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance
- Knowledge or experience of plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating
- Understanding of fire safety procedures
- Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and facilities management practices
- GCSEs in Maths and English
- The ability to work effectively as part of a small team
- Good communication and organisational skills
- A reliable, proactive and practical approach
- An Enhanced DBS Certificate, or willingness to obtain one
- Availability to work during school holidays
- Pay between £14.24 - £15 per hour, dependent on experience, inclusive of holiday pay
- Paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees
- A dedicated local consultant providing ongoing support
- Free safeguarding training and access to further professional development
- The opportunity to gain valuable experience within a secondary school environment
Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
