With a busy engineering company, this position is known as workshop labourer and has the potential to develop into an engineering role if the successful candidate wishes it to. It's a mixture of general labouring duties including warehouse work and labouring; moving stock manually and with the fork lift truck as well as routine housekeeping. There are times when you will be driving the company vehicle to pick up stock for the engineers so applicants must also have a full UK driving license.

The company maintain and repair mechanical handling equipment and machinery and will progress staff with training, so this is an ideal position for a keen, pro‑active and experienced labourer who would like to develop their skills further in time.

As the workshop support, you will:

  • Be carrying out a mixture of general warehouse duties as well as workshop and yard-based housekeeping in a safe and professional manner and with care and attention. The products are machinery and equipment and can be large and heavy. The role includes labouring, moving stock etc. so physical fitness is essential.
  • You will also be driving the company vehicle to pick up stock for the engineers when needed.

To apply for the workshop support you must have:

  • Full UK driving lisence along with similar experience within a general labouring type role.
  • Ideally you will be confide net loading and unloading using the FLTs, but training can be given.
  • Good attitude with the ability to stay motivated and productive.
  • Helpful and willing to take ownership of a wide range of general duties.
  • Work independently on sites in a safe manner.

  • Salary:
    Up to £28,500 depending on experience, skills and abilities
  • Hours:

    Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm (40hrs per week)

    Start on 25 plus 8 stats, this increases to 28 plus 8 stats over time
