We’re looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team, playing a critical role in maintaining and improving the performance of our manufacturing operations.
You’ll be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of woodworking, packaging, and painting machinery, helping to maximise reliability, minimise downtime, and drive continuous improvement.
The Role- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery and site services
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults to reduce disruption to production
- Support installation, commissioning, modification, and improvement of machinery and equipment
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and calibration of equipment
- Maintain accurate records using the CMMS system
- Assist with procurement of spare parts and engineering consumables
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing upgrades
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and electrical regulations
- Support contractors, suppliers, and cross-functional teams when required
- Completed electrical or multi-skilled engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (e.g. ONC/OND or above)
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong fault-finding skills on CNC and automated machinery
- Good understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Self‑motivated with excellent problem‑solving and communication skills
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- IT literate (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Willingness to work at heights and undertake physically demanding tasks
- Experience with Homag woodworking and Cefla painting machinery
- Fabrication or machining experience
- MEWP certification (or willingness to train
- Shift‑based role with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and call‑outs
- Participation in a rotational on‑call system
