The opportunity

We're working with a well-established heavy industry manufacturing supplier based in Doncaster to recruit an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer on a permanent, days-based contract. This is a hands-on role at the heart of a busy production environment, where planned and reactive maintenance is critical to keeping operations running. What you'll be doing

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical plant and equipment
Diagnosing faults and breakdowns quickly to minimise production downtime
Working on heavy industrial machinery including conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems
Supporting and working alongside electrical maintenance colleagues on cross-discipline tasks
Completing accurate maintenance records and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental standards on site

What we're looking for

Recognised engineering qualification - City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ Level 3, ONC/HNC, or time-served apprenticeship
Solid experience in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or processing environment
Strong mechanical knowledge across hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment
Comfortable fault-finding independently and under pressure
A proactive, safety-first mindset with good attention to detail
Multi-skilled engineers with some electrical awareness are particularly welcome
