CNC Operator and Toolmaker (JN -) Doncaster, England
Salary: GBP
16 - GBP
16 per hour
Pay: £16 per hour
Hours:
40 hours per week
Shifts:
Monday to Friday
We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Toolmaker to join a well-established manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineering professional with experience in tooling, CNC machining, and production support.
Key Responsibilities- Manufacture, modify, and maintain tooling, jigs, fixtures, and attachments.
- Operate, set, and programme CNC mills and lathes.
- Carry out preventative maintenance on tooling and production equipment.
- Repair and maintain diecasting machines and dies.
- Manufacture replacement parts through milling and turning processes.
- Change tool and work offsets as required.
- Improve machining programmes through optimisation of speeds, feeds, tooling, and machining strategies.
- Test tooling before release to production.
- Monitor tooling lifespan and manufacture or order replacement parts when required.
- Maintain Kan Ban stock systems and tooling databases.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support production schedules and departmental KPI targets.
- Attend daily production meetings and work closely with the Production Controller.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Assist with staff supervision, attendance monitoring, and return-to-work interviews where required.
- Level 3 qualification in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.
- Strong experience in CNC machining, toolmaking, milling, and turning.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience with tool maintenance, repair, and manufacturing processes.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
- Supervisory experience is desirable but not essential.
- Flexible approach to workload and changing business demands.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proactive and able to use initiative.
- Committed to continuous improvement and ongoing training.
- 40-hour contract.
