Are you a very experienced qualified critical care nurse with a strong interest and track record in education who would like to be part of the senior nursing team in a large dynamic and friendly critical care department?
In our teaching hospital at Doncaster we have 22 beds and at Bassetlaw 7 beds - both combined level 3 (ICU) and level 2 (HDU) and you will be expected to work across sites. We care for a wide range of adult critically ill medical and surgical emergency and elective cases. We have a fully comprehensive career pathway offering induction, preceptorship and critical care qualifications as well as advanced clinical skills and leadership opportunities for experienced staff. We have a critical care nurse consultant and band 6 critical care nurse educators to support you, and there are many opportunities to be involved in quality improvement and research projects. We are part of South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Critical Care Network, and you will be expected to teach on our network academically accredited critical care course.
We have a great working relationship with allied health professionals who support our patients and our medical team who help support and educate our staff. If you are interested and have any questions or would like an informal visit, we would be happy to meet you.
Main duties of the jobThe role is key in ensuring the learning and development needs of nursing and associated staff and students are met and knowledge, skill and competence are achieved. You will be expected to ensure that a culture of learning and development is maintained within critical care as well as preserving your clinical skills and developing further teaching and assessing skills.
