Overview
This fantastic team is based in Doncaster and are looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon to join them, ideally for a four‑day week, with part‑time applicants also considered. There are no out‑of‑hours or bank holiday commitments, and Saturday mornings are worked on an approximate 1 in 8 rota with time off in lieu during the week.
They are a friendly and supportive team of eight vets with a wide range of interests, including medicine, surgery and diagnostic imaging, and are proud to have certificate holders in these areas. There is always someone available to offer support and encourage your professional development. They are seeking a vet who has completed their VetGDP and is confident performing routine surgeries.
The practice operates across two sites – a hospital and a branch surgery that was recently refurbished. Out‑of‑hours, weekend and bank holiday care is managed by an external provider who attend the main hospital site overnight, allowing inpatients to remain in one place and continue to be cared for by a dedicated overnight team.
Responsibilities- Perform routine and elective surgical procedures, including cruciate and patella surgery, laparoscopic procedures and BOAS surgery.
- Provide inpatient care and emergency assistance during dedicated hospital shifts.
- Consult and operate on a variety of small animal cases, using in‑house diagnostic tools such as advanced imaging, ultrasound, dental radiography, endoscopy and i‑STAT.
- Tailor your rota around the strengths and interests you wish to develop.
- Completed VetGDP.
- Confidence in performing routine surgeries.
- Additional certificates or advanced experience will be rewarded with a higher salary.
- Up to £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
