Position Summary
45 hours per week, up to £35,000 per annum, Reportng into the Head Chef.
The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, maintaining food safety standards, controlling costs, and leading kitchen staff to deliver an exceptional dining experience. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and culinary knowledge.
Situated alongside the tranquil River Don, Pastures Lodge is a truly unique hospitality venue that combines the charm of a traditional pub with the amenities of a modern event space. Part of our Butchers Hook syndicate, it offers a welcoming environment for families, couples, and business travellers alike.
The site features a spacious restaurant and bar area, complemented by the renowned "Ali Bongos" indoor soft play zone, making it a favourite among families. The menu is extensive, offering everything from hearty British classics and international dishes to a celebrated daily carvery and themed nights.
Beyond its dining offerings, Pastures Lodge is equipped with multiple function suites, catering to events ranging from weddings and christenings to corporate conferences and private parties. The venue boasts 60 comfortable en-suite bedrooms, adding convenience for guests attending events or seeking accommodation.
Job in a nutshell- Lead and manage daily kitchen operations
- Supervise, train, and schedule kitchen staff
- Ensure consistent food quality and presentation
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
- Manage inventory, ordering, and food costs
- Support menu execution and continuous improvement
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen operations
- Leadership and team management experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Culinary training or degree (preferred)
