Role Description

The Buying Manager - Interiors / Furniture (office based in DN11 - Doncaster) You will lead product sourcing and selection for Melody Maison's ecommerce range, ensuring a compelling, profitable, and on-brand assortment. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Doncaster, responsible for identifying new suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms, and managing ongoing supplier relationships. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring market trends and competitor activity, reviewing sales performance and stock levels, and making data-driven decisions on product introductions, discontinuations, and replenishment.

The Buying Manager will collaborate closely with merchandising, marketing, and operations teams to plan ranges, manage promotional activity, and support online visual merchandising and content. The role also involves overseeing quality standards, ensuring products meet customer expectations, and coordinating with logistics to optimize lead times and availability.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in buying or category management within furniture, interiors, or home décor, ideally for an ecommerce retailer.
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills, including experience using sales, margin, and stock data to make informed buying decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, maintaining effective long-term relationships.
  • Good understanding of interior design trends, styles, and customer preferences across classic, vintage, and contemporary looks.
  • Ability to collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and operations teams to build effective ranges and campaigns.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple product lines and deadlines.
  • Confident communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to represent the business professionally to suppliers and partners.
  • Comfort with digital tools and ecommerce platforms; experience working with inventory or product information systems is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in a similar buying role and relevant education in business, retail, or a related field are advantageous.
Salary range

- £42 - £46K Basic - 37.5hours (DOE)

Bonus

- Yearly Christmas and profit share bonus (DOE)
