We are looking for passionate individuals who are committed to improving the wellbeing of people and neighbourhoods, can build relationships and work effectively across a range of organisations, and are ready to play a vital role in delivering an all‑age service focused on community engagement, capacity building, community cohesion, diversionary activities, community safety and supporting local and national programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Frontline delivery of a person‑centred, all‑age service within a locality, helping people lead healthy, active lives and remain independent for longer.
  • Supporting an asset‑based community development approach that promotes strengths‑based practice and enables individuals to exercise choice and control in how they are supported.
  • Delivering early intervention and prevention activity to reduce escalation into higher‑cost services.
  • Tackling low‑level crime, anti‑social behaviour, hate crime and criminal damage, and providing support to victims and vulnerable residents using both enforcement tools and targeted interventions, including case management where appropriate.
  • Using partnership intelligence, data and analysis to identify hotspots and inform targeted prevention and early‑intervention planning.
  • Identifying and supporting individuals and families to achieve positive and sustained outcomes, including through programmes such as Stronger Families and the wider Wellbeing agenda.
  • Contributing directly to Community Led Support and community capacity building, enabling residents to access and deliver local services, drive local innovation, and maintain independence within their communities.
  • Developing a strong understanding of local needs to support communities to develop their own solutions.
  • Acting as a key link for work involving Complex Lives, vulnerable individuals, and cases where wider community impact is identified.
  • Supporting the delivery of community projects through a range of funding opportunities.
  • Working with local Ward Members to support them in their community leadership roles.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience in developing strong and resilient communities using innovative, asset‑based community development approaches.
  • Knowledge of anti‑social behaviour and community safety legislation, and practical experience of applying relevant tools and powers.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organisational and negotiation skills, with a solution‑focused approach and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policy agendas and programmes linked to service priorities, such as the Supporting Families agenda, Crime and Policing Act, Community Led Support and Wellbeing.

A full driving licence is essential due to the nature of the role.

Benefits
  • Competitive leave entitlement
  • Generous local government pension scheme
  • Wellbeing support and staff networks
  • Development and training opportunities
  • Staff discounts and benefits schemes
