Key Qualifications and Requirements- Proven track record within Youth Justice or related fields
- Experience with holistic assessments and bespoke planning for young people and families
- Sound understanding of risk assessment and case management
- Knowledge of the Child First agenda and ability to implement it in practice
- Eligibility for an enhanced level Disclosure and Barring Service check
- Carry out good quality assessments of young people who have committed offences using prescribed assessment tools and within required timescales.
- Prepare high‑standard reports for Courts and Out of Court panels to assist sentencers.
- Make safety judgements and devise Risk Management Plans to protect young people, the public and reduce re‑offending.
- Adhere to Engagement, Compliance and Enforcement procedures and local standards.
- Ensure participation of young people in service delivery and centralise their lived experiences.
- Incorporate the victim’s voice in all assessments and support safety planning with victim leads.
- Cover all Youth Court appearances, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Record all interactions accurately on the Youth Justice Team database within appropriate timescales.
- Conduct home visits, calls and other outreach as required by risk levels.
