The Regulation & Enforcement Service are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to work within the Trading standards & licensing team as a Licensing Practitioner. The team is responsible for delivering the Council's licensing functions, ranging from Acupuncture to Zoo licensing. A significant element of the team's workload relates to taxi licensing and the licensing of premises which sell alcohol and/or provide regulated entertainment.
Duties include:
- the administration of licence applications
- establishing eligibility, monitoring compliance and bringing to compliance where appropriate. Proficiency in an administrative and compliance orientated role
- Effective communication and mediation skills
- Computer literacy, in particular, the use and maintenance of a database
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- A working knowledge of licensing law and practice is desirable. We value a range of experiences and skills. If you have transferable skills from other roles or voluntary work, we encourage you to apply.
