Salary: Up to £37,500 per year
Location: Doncaster – On-site
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
4 on / 4 off shift pattern
5:00am – 5:30pm
About the roleWe are seeking an organised and proactive Transport Coordinator to join our busy logistics operation in Doncaster. This is a fast‑paced role where you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth planning, coordination, and delivery of transport activities across our fleet and third‑party providers.
You will work closely with internal teams to ensure deliveries are completed on time and in full, while maintaining compliance with all transport regulations.
Key responsibilities- Plan and execute daily and weekly transport schedules for company vehicles and third‑party logistics providers
- Collaborate with Transport and Operations teams to ensure plans are achievable and efficient
- Liaise with Sales teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
- Track vehicle movements using transport software and report delays or issues
- Communicate progress updates on collections and deliveries to internal stakeholders
- Manage delivery documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely return of signed paperwork
- Conduct driver briefings and debriefings at the start and end of shifts
- Maintain accurate records using ERP systems
- Ensure compliance with driver hours regulations and tachograph requirements
- Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and report defects
- Support yard operations, including trailer preparation and shunting
- Respond quickly to operational challenges and resolve issues as they arise
- Previous experience as a Transport Coordinator or in a similar role
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence (however experience is not essential)
- Strong understanding of transport logistics and supply chain operations
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively
- Experience using ERP systems (preferred, however, not essential)
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
