Monday – Friday, perm mornings (6:00 – 14:00)

Elevation Recruitment Group are working exclusively with a growing organisation that has recently invested in a brand-new distribution facility in South Yorkshire, in their search for a Shift Manager to take ownership of the morning shift.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for the day-to-day performance of your shift, leading operatives and support teams to deliver excellent operational performance and meet targets.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll spend majority of your time out on the shop floor, coaching your team, solving problems and ensuring operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities of the Shift Manager include:
  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of operatives & support staff
  • Manage daily operations to ensure productivity, quality and service targets are achieved
  • Plan labour effectively to maximise efficiency across the shift
  • Drive a strong health & safety culture
  • Monitor and improve key operational KPIs
  • Manage materials handling equipment and ensure equipment is maintained safely
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce costs
  • Use Warehouse Management Systems to monitor performance and maintain accurate operational records
  • Resolve operational issues quickly to minimise disruption
We’re looking for experienced operational leaders with the below skills and experience:
  • Previous leadership experience in high volume manufacturing or distribution
  • Confidence to motivate teams and make decisions in a busy environment
  • Strong people management skills with experience coaching and developing teams.
  • Knowledge of operational and KPI management
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • FLT Licence, or previous experience within high FLT traffic environment
  • A passion for delivering high standards of safety, quality and customer service
  • IOSH would be beneficial
