The North Carolina Department of Revenue is currently seeking a qualified candidate to lead the day-to-day operations of the Electronic Payments team (ePay). In this capacity, this individual has responsibility to ensure the deposits and certification data of all incoming electronic state tax monies processed by NCDOR (electronic funds transfer, online, etc.) are correct. This responsibility encompasses the operational aspects of all the systems associated with these functions, so that the performances are meeting the output necessary to accomplish the processing goals established by the Division and expected by the Department.
This person is responsible for assisting team members in understanding critical functions as well as assisting with daily tasks as needed; training employees; hiring employees; and employee evaluations. This position will research electronic payment errors reported from tax accounts, financial institutions, payroll service providers, taxpayers and DOR employees to determine the causes, resolve problems, and work with all parties to prevent future issues.
The supervisor also ensures that electronic payment exceptions (such as returned payments and card chargebacks) are processed daily, banks are paid, and bad payments are processed accordingly in the various processing systems. This position reports directly to the Manager of ePayment and Registrations in the Submissions Processing Division. Eight full-time positions report directly to the Supervisor of ePayment Processing.
This position is hybrid, meaning the employee may choose to work 100% in a DOR provided facility or may choose to work part-time at home and part-time in the assigned duty station. This is a North Carolina in-state position.
Overtime and vacation leave restrictions may be required during peak periods.
A skills assessment using various Microsoft Office products will be administered as part of the interview process.

Recruitment Range: $41,655.00 - $58,000.00
