We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Consultant Radiologists to join our friendly team here at Dorset County Hospital. Do you have a specialist interest in Paediatric, Breast or Upper GI imaging? If so, we are looking for you! The Radiology Department at Dorset County Hospital is a progressive, patient‑focused department highly regarded by the clinical teams that use our services.

It is a busy district general hospital department providing CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, interventional radiology and symptomatic breast services and plain film. The post holder will join a cohesive group of 15 substantive consultant radiologists.

• Contribute to the general workload of the department while developing or providing a sub‑specialist interest such as paediatrics, breast or cross‑sectional imaging.
• Elective reporting via an allocated worklist; workload varies with the length of reporting session and area of expertise.
• Encourage MDT involvement and provide time for MDT preparation.
• Cover non‑IR emergencies and report elective cross‑sectional cases until 20:00 weekdays and 09:00‑17:00 weekends as part of the on‑call rota (currently 1:12 with internal cover).

The department holds Quality Standard for Imaging Accreditation (QSI) and plays an essential role in the Trust’s strategic direction as part of the Dorset Imaging Clinical Network.

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (proposed CCT date within 6 months of interview) or CESR or European Community Rights.
• Appropriate higher surgical/medical qualification.

• Evidence of the ability to manage the demands of a DGH‑based consultant radiologist.
• Significant and recent experience in the UK.

• Experience in a broad range of radiology examinations and reporting (US, CT, MR).
• Evidence of clinical skills required to fulfil the specialty and sub‑specialty elements of the job as in the job description and technical specification.

• Experience of recent collaborative working in service development or improvement.

• Understanding and participation in clinical governance.
• Evidence of recent participation in relevant audit.

• Management training, organisational skills and strategic vision.
• Teaching and communication skills.
