As an organisation, we are strengthening our focus on workforce planning, skills development and creating sustainable talent pipelines that support both current and future workforce needs.

Working closely with colleagues across the council, businesses, education and training providers, and community partners, you will help us move towards a more proactive approach to attracting, developing and retaining talent. The successful candidate will help develop and maintain partnerships with employers and external organisations, creating opportunities for people to access work experience, apprenticeships, training and employment. You will support the identification of current and future skills needs, helping to ensure our programmes align with workforce priorities and create meaningful progression opportunities for local people.

  • Help develop talent pipelines that support organisational workforce planning and future skills requirements.
  • Engage with employers and services to understand workforce challenges and identify opportunities to grow talent from within local communities.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding and progression of apprentices and participants on employment programmes.
  • Coordinate engagement activities, careers events, information sessions and recruitment campaigns.
  • Maintain accurate records, learner information and programme data to support reporting and service improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative approaches that increase access to employment, skills development and career opportunities.
  • Support the team's ambition to create a modern, resilient and sustainable workforce through proactive workforce planning and talent development initiatives.
