1. Role Purpose
The ERP Solution Architect is accountable for defining, governing, and assuring the end-to-end target solution architecture for the Oracle Fusion Cloud implementation. The role ensures the solution is aligned to business outcomes, compliant with governance and audit expectations, technically robust, secure, supportable, and delivered using Oracle best practice with minimal customisation.

Key Responsibilities
A) End-to-End Solution Architecture
Own the overall solution architecture for the ERP programme (Oracle Fusion Cloud end state).
Define target architecture across Oracle Fusion Financials, Procurement, HCM Core, and Payroll.
Ensure alignment between process design, configuration, integrations, reporting, and security.
B) Business Process & Design Governance
Lead design assurance to promote standardisation and process simplification.
Minimise customisation ("adopt not adapt") unless justified and approved.
Chair Design Authority forums / architecture review boards and maintain decision logs.
Approve solution designs and ensure traceability to requirements.
C) SAP-to-Oracle Transition & Legacy Alignment
Translate SAP legacy processes and structures into Oracle Fusion equivalents.
Drive rationalisation of legacy complexity and technical debt.
Ensure coherent cross-module design across Finance, Procurement, HCM, and Payroll.
D) Integration Architecture (OIC / APIs / Middleware)
Define integration approach and patterns (batch vs real-time, inbound/outbound).
Govern interface scope and dependencies (banks, HMRC, pensions, DWH, identity).
Define monitoring, error handling, reconciliation, and support processes.
E) Data Migration Architecture & Sequencing
Work with the Data Migration Lead to define migration sequencing and dependencies.
Ensure migration design supports audit evidence and reconciliation requirements.
Define data quality thresholds for go-live readiness.
F) Security, Controls & Compliance
Define role-based access control principles and SoD model.
Ensure Delegation of Authority (DoA) and approval workflows are correctly designed.
Ensure compliance with GDPR/data privacy for HR/Payroll data.
G) Reporting & Analytics Architecture
Define reporting strategy across Finance/Procurement/HCM/Payroll (OTBI, BI Publisher, downstream platforms).
Ensure operational, statutory, and management reporting requirements are met.
H) Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs)
Ensure the solution meets performance, resilience, scalability, maintainability, and upgrade-readiness requirements.
Support Oracle quarterly release readiness and regression planning.
I) Delivery Assurance & Go-Live Readiness
Provide architectural assurance across design, build, SIT, UAT, cutover, and hypercare.
Support go/no-go decisions with architectural risk assessment and mitigation actions.
Ensure the BAU support model is viable post go-live (Tier 1/2/3).
J) Supplier / Partner Management
Assure System Integrator (SI) and partner architecture deliverables.
Review and approve partner designs to ensure alignment with standards and programme objectives.
Support commercial discussions where architecture impacts scope, cost, or risk.

Cutover architecture inputs and go-live readiness assessment
4. Required Skills & Experience
Proven ERP Solution Architect experience on large-scale transformations.
Strong Oracle Fusion Cloud architecture knowledge across Finance, Procurement, HCM Core, and Payroll.
Strong SAP on-prem knowledge (FI/MM/HCM) to support transition and mapping.
Strong integration architecture capability (OIC, APIs, file-based integration patterns).
