The Day Surgery Unit is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Band 5 Staff Nurse and Operating Department Practitioner to support this busy department with a strong emphasis on theatre‑based practitioners.

We seek all‑round trained Theatre Practitioners/ODPs with a qualification recognised in the UK and an interest in anaesthetics and orthopaedics.

• Work across the Theatre Complex, including Main Theatres.
• Support elective procedures, day‑case trauma and emergency procedures.
• Assist with post‑operative care for patients on the day‑case pathway.
• Rotate across all sites – Dorset County Hospital, the Eye Day Case unit and the satellite unit at Weymouth Community Hospital.
• Provide support in other theatre areas as required.

• All‑round trained Theatre Practitioner or ODP with a UK‑recognised qualification.
• Demonstrated interest in anaesthetics and orthopaedics.
• Ability to work across multiple theatres and sites.
• Strong communication and patient‑care skills.

The unit operates Monday to Friday from 7am to 8pm.
