We need a Marine Water Quality Officer to help make waters cleaner and thriving by applying technical expertise in marine environments, modelling, and data analysis.

• Provide timely answers to technical questions.
• Review reports and summarise key information for decision‑making.
• Use data to inform water quality models and interpret monitoring data and model outputs to support environmental protection.
• Summarise and communicate technical work, escalating challenges when needed.
• Build strong relationships across a dispersed team and with external partners.
• Contribute to incident response and incident management duties, with training and support provided.

• Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline; experience in data analysis and knowledge of modelling software preferred.
• Experience with tools such as Excel, Access, R, Power BI, GIS, and specialist packages like Mike or Cormix is an advantage.
• Comfortable working in a virtual team and travelling for occasional national meetings.
• Strong communication skills, able to convey complex technical information to non‑technical audiences.

• Two positions: one permanent and one fixed‑term for 6 months.
• Flexible, hybrid working arrangements; national role with EA Office base location.
