Emotional Health and Wellbeing Practitioner

This is an exciting opportunity for two Emotional Health and Wellbeing Practitioners to join a flexible and friendly team working with children and young people in care to fulfill the Trust's responsibility to improve the outcomes for Children in Care and Care Leavers.
The role is a permanent 37.5 hour per week position, primarily based in Dorset with travel across Dorset. The practitioner will be supported by the Lead Specialist Nurse, Named Nurse for Children in Care, and Specialist CAMHS CAP team, with opportunities for supervision, training and development.
Main responsibilities- Support the emotional needs of children in care once a referral has been made.
- Liaise closely with Social Workers, CAMHS and the CIC Health team.
- Deliver brief, evidence‑based interventions for the CIC cohort following referral from social care, education, primary care or foster carers.
- Provide interventions at the Getting Help stage of the Thrive model.
- Deliver specialist care and interventions, assessments, and manage patients on a caseload as part of a multidisciplinary care team.
- Provide specialist advice and devise programmes of care for other professionals to deliver and ensure appropriate implementation.
- Plan, implement and review health improvement programmes across a range of settings.
- Provide supervision, mentorship, training and support to other team members.
- Registered practitioner at degree/diploma level with specialist post‑registration training or extensive experience in the specialty.
- Training in an evidence‑based therapeutic approach.
- Experience at Practitioner Band 6 level and recent experience in a comparable role.
- Experience designing and delivering training and supervision to others.
- Experience providing clinical supervision and mentoring to junior staff.
- Ability to analyse data and produce reports using Microsoft Excel and Word.
Employment type: Full‑time, permanent
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, primarily in Dorset with travel across Dorset.
DBS requirement: Enhanced DBS check required. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check: This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and a disclosure submission to the DBS is required to check for any previous criminal convictions.
