In this role, you will support the preparation and management of cable installation, cable burial and cable repair projects for both in-field and export power cables. As the senior engineering expert within the project team, you will be responsible for developing technical solutions, preparing engineering documentation and supporting the successful execution of projects from start to finish.
Working closely with clients, subcontractors, offshore teams and internal stakeholders, you will play an important role in delivering safe, efficient and high-quality project outcomes.
Key responsibilities
Act as the senior engineering focal point within the project team, supporting the preparation of offshore cable installation and repair projects through the development of methodologies, documentation, schedules and equipment requirements.
Develop technical solutions for cable installation, cable burial and cable repair projects and ensure engineering documentation and drawings are prepared and verified.
Coordinate equipment and subcontractor selections, support project mobilisations and demobilisations, and guide internal and external engineering specialists involved in project preparation.
Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders by attending meetings, reviewing technical documentation and supporting the successful execution and delivery of projects.
Prepare technical reports, project reviews and close‑out documentation while ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with N-Sea’s Document Management System.
Support the maintenance of N-Sea Cable Procedures and remain informed about developments in power cable installation and burial methods and equipment.
Contribute to tender activities through equipment selection, timing estimates and technical input, while identifying opportunities to improve project efficiency and reduce costs.
Support the development of Junior Project Engineers through on‑the‑job training and knowledge sharing.
What we are looking for
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Offshore Energy or a similar discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in offshore power cable installation and/or repair projects.
Strong understanding of offshore cable operations and project preparation.
Analytical, proactive and solution‑oriented approach.
Flexible, responsible and able to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
Hands‑on attitude and strong commitment to Health & Safety.
Willingness to travel internationally and work offshore on occasion.
Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
Ability to provide technical guidance and support to project teams and junior engineers.

Due to the specialist nature of this position we are only considering candidates with demonstrable experience in offshore power cable installation, cable burial and/or cable repair projects. Experience gained in closely related offshore subsea installation disciplines may also be considered.
