Are you passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs?
A specialist built school based in Dorking is looking for a dedicated Special Needs Learning Support Assistant (SEN LSA) to join the team now! You will support students with special educational needs (SEN), and a range of associated social, emotional and mental health challenges (SEMH).
This Special Needs Learning Support Assistant role is ideal for a Psychology, Sociology and Criminology graduates. You will gain excellent practical experience with SEN/SEMH pupils in a relevant field, before you take your next step. The role will give you experience working with vulnerable pupils, increasing their engagement, attainment and life chances.
These children and young people face multiple barriers in their day-to-day life, including trauma, marginalisation and disadvantage, low educational achievement and social stigma. With this Special Needs Learning Support Assistant role based in Dorking, you will be an essential part of the pupils school life as with your consistency, you will provide them with invaluable help so they learn as much as they can, progress as far as they can and accomplish as much as they.
Person Specification
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN
Assist the class teacher with the learning experience
Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
Work closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals
Experience working with children, young people, or individuals with SEN (desirable but not essential)
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
Approachable, and able to build robust and effective relationships with pupils
Can remain calm and resilient when placed in situations of stress or conflict
Able to commute to Dorking
** September or ASAP start, trial days taking place to ensure the role and school is right for you
** Excellent on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all students
**£93-£105 per day, Mon-Fri, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, term time only
** No previous experience is required
** If you have a Psychology / Criminology / Social Science degree, it's an excellent use of your degree
** You MUST have right to work in the UK in order to apply - no Visa sponsorship
