Youll work closely with design and engineering teams, contributing directly to how parts are made and improved. This is a secure, long-term role offering consistent work, career progression, and ongoing development within a growing company. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC milling and turning machines (including 3/4-axis mills and CNC lathes such as Haas and Doosan). Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances with high levels of accuracy and finish. Optimise machining processes to improve efficiency and cycle times. Perform first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment. Ensure parts meet engineering drawings and quality standards through self-inspection.
Select suitable tooling, inserts, and work holding solutions. Adjust offsets and programs to maintain machine performance. Carry out routine maintenance and basic fault-finding. Maintain a clean, organised workspace in line with 5S and safety standards. Work collaboratively to meet production targets and deadlines. Support continuous improvement initiatives. Skills & Experience Minimum 3 years experience in CNC machining within a precision engineering environment (turning and/or milling).
Proven ability to set and operate CNC milling machines (3/4-axis) and lathes independently. Strong working knowledge of Haas and/or Fanuc control systems. Experience machining a variety of materials to tight tolerances and high-quality standards. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T requirements. Skilled in the use of precision inspection equipment and quality validation processes. Strong understanding of cutting parameters, tooling selection, and work holding techniques.
Competence in editing and troubleshooting CNC programs (G-code/M-code) at the machine. A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Desirable Skills
Experience with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam) for program optimisation or offline programming. Multi-axis machining experience (4/5-axis). Background in aerospace, automotive, or other high-specification engineering environments.
