Dermatology Outpatient Nurse

This is a 12-week temporary post as a dermatology outpatient nurse on weekend in sourcing clinics across Dorset, supplied by 18 Week Support for NHS Trusts seeking to cut waiting lists. The work centres on preparing clinics and treatment rooms, assisting consultants during consultations and procedures, and keeping clinical records. Hours run from 08:00 to 18:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. Applicants must currently work in an NHS dermatology service and hold current NMC registration.

• Prepare and set up clinics, treatment rooms, equipment, instruments and procedure trolleys, ensuring necessary equipment is available
• Conduct patient observations and assessments where appropriate
• Assist consultants and clinicians during patient consultations and procedures
• Support the safe and efficient delivery of patient care
• Provide patient education and treatment advice where appropriate
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Ensure clinics run safely and efficiently in line with clinical standards and patient safety requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) qualification

• Current NMC registration with no restrictions to practise

• Currently working in an NHS dermatology service with supervision and leadership
• Recent hands-on experience supporting patients in dermatology outpatient clinics
• At least 6 months of this work within the past 12 months
• Proven experience in an NHS dermatology outpatient setting
• Proven experience in an NHS dermatology surgical setting

• Excellent patient assessment, communication and organisational skills
