Cumulus Outdoors are school residential activity specialists based in Swanage in Dorset. We pride ourselves on delivering top quality school trips and activity days in beautiful locations along the Jurassic Coast. We are the only Outdoor Centre in Swanage and are a stone’s throw away from the town and beach. We provide adventure activities as part of tented and indoor residentials stays, including Coasteering, Climbing, Ropes Course, Tag Archery, Paddle sports including SUP, Bushcraft and much more.

We consider ourselves very professional in what we deliver and we are now looking for instructors to join our team for the 2026 season as part of our continuing expansion plans.

Cumulus Outdoors are looking for Seasonal Instructors

We need seasonal multi activity instructors to join our professional and friendly team to help deliver activity sessions to schools, youth groups and private groups on the sensational Jurassic coastline in Dorset.

We are looking for confident, friendly and experienced instructors to deliver safe and fun outdoor activities in Dorset. Ideally, you will have experience working with youth groups, schools and adults in the outdoors.

Subsidised accommodation is available at our residential base in Swanage. Our base is within easy walking distance to the town, beach and many sea-cliff climbing venues.

We offer training and opportunities to gain valuable experience and qualifications, both for your personal development and hands on sessions to expand your NGB log books. Also, with our equipment contacts, you can expect to save 50% on outdoor equipment!

Instructors with Cumulus are offered extensive training opportunities throughout the season.

In 2025 our instructing team received support through the following awards:

• ERCA High and Low Ropes Instructor
• D1 Licence + CPC
• 16 hour first aid qualification & Enhanced DBS Certificate
• Paddle sports Instructor
• Walking Qualification
• ERCA High Ropes Course Instructor
• Beach Lifeguard
• RCI

We provide full in-house training for Coasteering and Bushcraft.

Instructing & Overnights:
Up to £770.00 per week

Three or more of the following awards (must include RCI):

• 16 hour first aid qualification & Enhanced DBS Certificate
• Paddle sports Instructor
• Walking Qualification
• ERCA High Ropes Course Instructor
• Beach Lifeguard
• RCI

• A - Normal working hours for instructing only 08.30 - 17.00.
• B – Normal working hours for instructing and overnights 08.30 Monday morning – 17.00 Friday afternoon inclusive.
• Duration: 30 th March – 25 th September 2026
• Contracts likely to be extended
