Veterinary Surgeon in Dorset Up to £80,000 FTE | 1 in 4 Saturdays | No OOH

Fancy swapping the daily commute for a 5-minute walk to the beach?

GVC are assisting a locally owned, progressive veterinary practice on the beautiful South Coast with the recruitment of an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly team.

This is a practice that genuinely puts people, clinical standards and work-life balance at the heart of what they do.

The Practice

Over the past few years, the practice has invested heavily in both its facilities and its people, including:

  • A dedicated dental suite
  • Upgraded imaging facilities
  • Larger waiting area and additional consult rooms
  • Improved kennelling facilities
  • A dedicated colleague space
  • Vetus 50 ultrasound with colour Doppler and ECG
  • K-Laser
  • Laparoscopic equipment coming soon

The team is made up of 5 vets with over 40 years of combined experience, including an Advanced Practitioner in Medicine, alongside a highly experienced and long-standing nursing and reception team.

As an RCVS accredited Nurse Training Practice, they are passionate about maintaining high clinical standards while creating an environment where everyone feels supported to develop.

An interest in laparoscopy would be fantastic, although this isn't essential. If it's an area you'd like to develop, the team are keen to support this through the right equipment, caseload and CPD.

You'll also have the opportunity to support and mentor newer members of the vet team, sharing your experience in a genuinely collaborative environment.

  • Confident in both medicine and surgery
  • Comfortable with sole charge
  • Interest in laparoscopy desirable, but not essential
  • Someone who enjoys working collaboratively and supporting colleagues
The Package
  • Up to £80,000 FTE
    , depending on experience
  • 1 in 4 Saturdays
  • No OOH
  • Flexible approach to working patterns
  • Protected lunch breaks
  • CPD and development opportunities
  • Supportive, experienced team
  • Progressive clinical environment
  • Just a 5-minute walk from Weymouth beach!
Why Weymouth?

Work somewhere that makes it genuinely easy to have a life outside of work. Whether you're heading to the beach after a shift, getting outdoors at the weekend or simply enjoying your lunch break by the coast, this is a location where work-life balance isn't just a phrase.

If you're an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for a supportive, progressive practice where you can continue developing clinically while enjoying a fantastic coastal lifestyle, GVC would love to hear from you.
