Children with Disabilities Social Worker – Dorset

iPeople SC Solutions is currently recruiting for a Children with Disabilities Social Worker to work for our client based in Dorset and surrounding areas.

Social Worker – Children with Disabilities in North and West Dorset.

You will be working with children who have severe and complex needs including Autism Spectrum conditions. Dorset Council sets out a threshold statement about disability criteria for children and young people who are eligible to receive a service.
The team undertake Child and Family assessments of children who are disabled and their families. This includes working with families to address safeguarding concerns and working with Children in Care, whether full time or short break care. Cases can be managed under child in need which can include short breaks out of the home and the provision of direct payments. The work tends to be long term in nature.
Included in the Service is CWAD Support [Early Help] team and a Paediatric Occupational Therapy team. Both of whom are available to support children who have eligible needs but do not necessarily require a social worker. You will be joining a stable service, where we have a culture of learning and sharing of knowledge.
A lot of our work can be multi- disciplinary and requires a coordinated response between services. So this might be with Health, Children and Young People’s Continuing Health Care, SEN Case Workers, Specialist Schools, and other clinical and therapeutic practitioners. We also work closely with our colleagues in Adult Services to ensure young people are supported to transition successfully into adulthood
