Overview
Setting:
Hospital-affiliated endocrinology / outpatient clinic + inpatient consults; works with a multi-specialty hospital environment, connected to hospital labs and imaging.
Schedule:
Full-time clinic / consult schedule; likely 4-5 clinic days per week plus inpatient consultation shifts; possible shared weekend call coverage.
Hours:
Regular clinic hours (e.g. 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) for outpatient, plus inpatient rounds and consult times; call rotation as required.
Patient Volume:
Moderate to high; typical endocrinology practice volume in this region might be 20–25 outpatient visits per day, plus inpatient consult volume (a few consults per day).
- MD or DO degree
- Completion of accredited endocrinology fellowship
- Board certification or eligibility in endocrinology
- Eligibility / licensure to practice in Alabama
- Experience in both outpatient endocrine disorders and inpatient endocrine consults
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (diabetes, endocrinology, hospitalists)
- Strong diagnostic, teaching, and patient management skills
