This Residential Hotel Manager is responsible for managing daily hotel operations to achieve planned goals for revenue and profit while maintaining standards for guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction, quality assurance, and asset protection. The role also involves providing leadership, training, direction, and support to hotel employees, and maintaining a high‑quality product. This Hotel General Manager will have a 2‑Bedroom, 2‑Bathroom apartment with all utilities paid.
Responsibilities- Provide the Revenue Management Department with market‑analysis data of competitors’ rates and forecast local market conditions.
- Support sales efforts as directed by management and the corporate sales organization.
- Train front‑desk staff to perform selling techniques for current promotions.
- Provide input to the annual budget by forecasting changes in operating expenses and labor costs.
- Use business forecasts to manage costs by scheduling labor, controlling other expenses, and managing utility costs in line with energy‑management and building‑operations standards.
- Adjust controllable expenses to maintain profit margins and achieve planned monthly budgets; explain variance causes and take corrective action.
- Execute company policies and procedures for purchasing.
- Manage employees to deliver guest services and quality products that achieve revenue and profit goals.
- Train and develop employees in accordance with human‑resources programs and guidelines.
- Handle upset guests and resolve service issues before guests leave the property.
- Respond personally to guest complaint letters, assistance contact forms, and comment cards.
- Maintain satisfactory Medallia guest‑satisfaction scores and correct any deficiencies.
- Administer company HR policies, payroll administration, personnel transactions, and fair treatment of employees; conduct wage surveys to provide input to the annual budget and ensure competitive wages.
- Lead professional business conduct in accordance with company policies, standards of conduct, business ethics, and conflicts of interest.
- Maintain satisfactory employee‑satisfaction survey scores and reduce employee turnover.
- Ensure a satisfactory guest experience and protect the company’s physical assets by maintaining the physical condition of the hotel in accordance with quality‑control standards.
- Manage preventative‑maintenance and quick‑fix programs per company standards.
- Maintain satisfactory product‑quality scores as measured by Medallia and take action to correct deficiencies.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or Business, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years as a Hotel General Manager or another hotel‑management role.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- May be required to do light lifting or carrying.
- Capable of working in a fast‑paced environment and in stressful situations.
- Must handle multiple task interruptions while providing professional and courteous service to customers.
- Must walk and/or stand for long periods.
- Must be flexible in work hours and days.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of computer software applications:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. - Full knowledge of hotel management and operations.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Good analytical skills and decision‑making ability.
