Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) night shift position requiring strong open heart and cardiac care skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) at a hospital

• Night shifts with a 4x12-hour schedule from 19:00 to 07:00

• Care for patients with post-cardiac procedures, A-fib flutter, stable AMIs, and diabetic conditions

• Use of Optiflow and V-60s for respiratory support; no ventilators used

• Manage cardiac drips including Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone, Tridil, renal dose Dopamine, and Heparin

• Typical patient ratio is 1:4

• Every other weekend shifts are required

• Uses Epic for charting;
Epic experience preferred

• No local candidates; must live outside a 90-mile radius

• First time travelers are welcome to apply

• Orientation held every other Monday

• Up to 7 days of time off allowed

• Compliance requirements must be completed one week prior to start

• Scrub color is navy or navy bottoms with a white top

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license required at time of consideration

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience

• Strong experience with open heart procedures and cardiac care required

• Experience managing insulin and cardiac drips is required

• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required, with accepted medical or religious exemptions with proof

• Two references required for consideration
