Pay Range

$47.00/hr - $47.00/hr

The ADULT MEDICAL SURGICAL REGISTERED NURSE (RN) is responsible for providing nursing care to adult patients experiencing general medical conditions or general surgical interventions. The RN applies nursing knowledge to assess, implement, and evaluate patient responses, initiates nursing care, health teaching, and counseling, and works under the direction and supervision of the appropriate client representative(s) on the assigned Adult Medical Surgical Unit.

• Complies with ATC policies and procedures.
• Complies with client facility nursing policies and procedures.
• Conducts individualized patient assessments and prioritizes data collection based on patient needs.
• Continuously performs ongoing assessments as dictated by patient condition and facility protocols.
• Collaborates with team members to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Administers treatments and therapies as ordered by the physician in a timely manner.
• Provides individualized patient and family teaching.
• Documents patient assessments, findings, and psychosocial responses to interventions.
• Initiates emergency measures according to adult and client resuscitation protocols.
• Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
• Provides patient care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner, respecting cultural diversity and age appropriateness.
• Advocates patient rights regarding advance directives and organ donation.
• Reports patient condition to appropriate personnel during each shift as needed.
• Maintains competency by participating in continuing education programs and meeting state‑specific requirements.
• Complies with accepted ethical conduct and professional standards of nursing practice.
• Demonstrates effective delegation when appropriate.

Education: Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.

License: Current and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.

Certification: BLS, NIH, and compact or AL license required.

Experience: One‑to‑two years as an RN in an Adult Medical Surgical Unit within the last three years, strong with high acuity and proficient with insulin and Heparin drips.

Credentials: Current CPR at least to the BLS level; other health and screening tests as required by facilities or regulatory agencies.

Various client facility settings with potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials.
