The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible to the Director of Aircraft Maintenance. The Aircraft Mechanic’s duties consist of accomplishing maintenance, servicing and related functions to all the aircraft at the assigned location. Duties include required maintenance, inspections, repairs, modifications, servicing and cleaning of the aircraft and the installed systems and components. All these functions will be accomplished in accordance with the applicable aircraft manufacturers and component manufacturers approved manuals and documents, the applicable Federal Aviation Administration regulations and documents and relevant CAE policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Perform aircraft maintenance and related functions on aircraft at his assigned location
Perform sheet metal and composite repairs
Perform avionics and electrical system troubleshooting, replacement and repair
Perform aircraft towing operations.
Servicing all aircraft systems.
Recovery of disabled aircraft to include off site locations as required.
Service ground support equipment and perform preventive maintenance inspections on all ground support equipment. Perform functional checks, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, overhaul, paint and preservation of ground support equipment, special tools, and accessories.
Ensure a safe and secure work environment is maintained.
Other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Director of Aircraft Maintenance
High school diploma or equivalent-General Educational Development (GED).
Valid U.S. driver’s license
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license with no violations or enforcement actions.
3 years’ experience as an A&P Mechanic
Consideration may be given to an A&P Mechanic who is a recent graduate of a 14 CFR Part 147 certified Aviation Maintenance Technician School
Operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, aircraft engines, propellers, rotor systems and component parts.
Knowledge and understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations applicable to aircraft maintenance, in particular 14 CFR Parts 91 and 43.
Knowledge of the proper use of hand tools for aircraft maintenance operations to include sheet metal tools
Turbine powered aircraft experience is desirable.
Inspection Authorization (IA) is desirable.
Ability to read and understand technical documents, electrical schematics and drawings
Able to work with standard office type software programs, typical office computer and related equipment
FAA Airframe and Powerplant License
Inspection Authorization Certificate is desirable
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need‑to‑know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Work EnvironmentWill be working outside on the flight line in all weather conditions, inside aircraft hangars, and in a regular office environment
Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladder into an airplane cockpit.
Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top of or under machinery.
Domestic and international travel as required.
May be required to be onboard aircraft in flight.
