This position provides the opportunity to become a Dell Certified Technician. These certifications must be completed prior to the technician being assigned work orders. There is no cost to certify, and all training is done online.
The Opportunity
The Dell Field Technician will be providing service to multiple customers each day. Our Field Services division provides residential and commercial PC, Laptop and Server warranty repair services on DELL (OEM) products.
Availability and other requirements for the Dell Hardware Field Technician position.
- Depending on the assignment, work orders need to be completed same day (Advanced) or next business day (Basic).
- The typical work availability requirement is 8am-6pm, Monday-Friday.
- There will be 'out of hours’ work assignments on occasion. On rare occasions, advanced work orders may come in after 6pm or weekends or 'out of hours’. While they do not all have to be addressed in a 4 hour window, the technician does need to follow-up with the customer within a designated time frame so the customer is advised as to when the work will be completed.
- The work order volume will fluctuate day to day and week to week.
- Technicians in this position are required to provide their own tools. A list is provided.
- Technicians in this position are required to provide their own car.

In addition to submitting a resume, applicants are required to complete our technical assessment. The technical assessment is not a test. It allows the applicant to answer multiple choice questions regarding his/her technical experience as well as what type of position is desired. It will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
