Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

We’re looking for skilled Small Engine Technician to join our team in Oliver
— In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing a variety of motorized power equipment. Including lawn mowers, trimmers, chainsaws and rototillers. You will diagnose complex issues, execute repairs, order necessary parts, and provide valuable recommendations to improve maintenance practices
- Complete shop tasks with efficiency and a positive attitude
- Follow safety procedures and wear the required safety equipment
- Maintain high standards of workmanship in repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics
- Comply with company policies for cost control, waste reduction, and quality
- Use tools, machines, and diagnostic software safely and effectively
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of paperwork and job-related documentation
- Communicate material and supply needs for assigned tasks
- Proactively engage in preventative maintenance and promote company value
- Assist with administrative duties, such as timesheet completion and equipment inspections
- Participate in training and share knowledge with the team
- Stay current on relevant technology and company requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- May involve working on larger machines as well.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience with Briggs and Stratton and Stihl products an asset.
- Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in various repair processes.
- Knowledge of equipment and site safety.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to read schematics, equipment manuals and use related software for diagnosis.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time.
Ability to perform strenuous physical labour. - Ability to work in a hot and humid, as well as a cold outdoor environment.
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
- Competitive pay $25 to $33 per hour (based on experience)
