The Rough Finishing Operative must be able to perform one or more of the following operations:
Cut-off, Blast, Water Blast, Alloy Type Test (ATT), Snag, Green Sort and Marking. Operator must be able to perform all operations and operate equipment efficiently.
- Check all routings for proper identification and operational routing.
- Operate pneumatic knockout unit.
- Cut-off castings, trim excess gating.
- Hand blast or water blast parts to remove excess ceramic material.
- Check alloy type.
- Snag grinding.
- Apply proper markings to castings using correct work instructions.
- Visually inspect work for obvious defects.
- Record on a daily basis all work performed by operational codes.
- Keep work area clean, orderly and in a safe working condition, follow all safety rules.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor.
High school education.
ExperienceRough Finish experience preferred.
Initiative And IngenuityNormal initiative and ingenuity.
EffortNormal effort required. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, approximately 10-20 times per hour. Use chain hoist for heavier weights.
ResponsibilityResponsible for self. Make sure parts meet quality standards. Must be willing to work daily overtime and weekend overtime as necessary.
Job ConditionsDirty working conditions due to ceramic pieces and dust.
