Position: Multi-Media Specialist Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy 2025

Description and Functions Open Until Filled The Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy, located in Douglas, Wyoming, under the Attorney General’s Office, seeks qualified applicants for a Multi-Media Specialist. This position oversees the daily operation of the agency’s Distance Learning program, including the production of online and classroom training videos and materials, and management of the Academy website. This position also manages the Academy Learning Management System for basic, advanced, and staff training programs.

You will assist instructional staff with posting and updating of course materials online, monitor courses for proper activity levels, and manage the Academy’s social media distribution. You will also perform executive-level administrative and office support duties as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Edits a wide variety of electronic and paper-based publications designed to communicate agency research, accomplishments, programs, and goals to many different audiences, from general to technical.
  • Confers with and advises agency staff and the public regarding specialized electronic or paper publication standards and specifications.
  • Directs plans and initiates promotions, informational/educational materials, and researches various agency programs.
  • Operate television or motion picture cameras or other equipment to record scenes for television broadcasts, training, advertising, or motion pictures.
  • Study scripts to become familiar with production concepts and requirements.
  • Ensures that conclusions are supported by facts.
  • Contract with commercial entities to finalize some final products.
  • Often rewrites sentences and passages, and recommends revisions in organization and presentation to ensure the clarity and effectiveness of the written product.
  • Uses knowledge of agency expertise to ensure effective technical communication.
  • Collaborate with authors to organize lesson plans and course syllabi to suggest an approach, develop tone, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ensures that all agency publications conform to appropriate technical style guidelines.
  • Works with agency management to develop communications that accomplish stated goals and objectives.
  • Analyze photography needs and take appropriate photos.
  • Responsible for creating and producing original art for the agency using the techniques of watercolors, oils, acrylics, sketches, line drawings, and technical illustrations (pen, pencil, and brush) in conjunction with software imaging and/or print for the agency or public distribution.
  • Works closely with graphic designers and webmasters to provide proper content for Department promotions.
  • Involved in training capacity with developed material for an agency.
  • Designs and maintains database records.
  • Design, implement, and maintain World Wide Web (WWW) sites at the agency level.
  • Foster good working relationships with program managers to facilitate timely content updates for the agency, division, or program-specific WWW pages.
Qualifications

PREFERENCES:
Knowledge and experience with the Blackboard Learning Management system. Experience with the setup and operation of video and livestream production equipment.

KNOWLEDGE
  • Knowledge in Access database input and management.
  • Knowledge of operating digital video and photography equipment, including green screen studio operations and dedicated video editing systems.
  • Knowledge of managing and operating online courses.
  • Knowledge of online learning management systems.
  • Knowledge of reviewing and editing documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Knowledge of inventory and purchasing procedures.
  • Knowledge of the agency’s mission, goals, policy, and procedures.
  • Skill in computer proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
