Equipment & Controls Technician – Tallgrass

Implement and maintain electrical power circuits and equipment, control and automation systems, electronic and pneumatic equipment used in pipelines, pump stations, compressor stations, and measurement facilities.

• Responsible for all activities related to electrical and control integrity including design, installation, inspection, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, repair, calibration and adjustment of pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, electronic, and PLC control systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks on pumps, compressors, drivers and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform Inspection and Maintenance (I & M) checks on all control systems.
• Maintain electrical switch gear and power distribution.
• Perform advanced engine/compressor/pump analytical testing and troubleshooting.
• Lead efforts to develop and implement changes as a result of analytical testing.
• Evaluate, develop, implement and maintain facility grounding systems.
• General upkeep, maintenance, janitorial, and housekeeping duties of all facilities and equipment as needed.
• Work in compliance with company standards, procedures, regulatory, and tariff requirements.
• Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
• Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork.
• Oversee construction, maintenance and/or work activities performed by third parties.
• Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence.
• Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
• Communicate clearly using high level verbal and listening skills.
• Maintain a regular and dependable attendance record.

• Associate’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical field or a related discipline.

• Understand and operate electronic test instruments.
• Excellent record of safe work practices.
• Working knowledge and experience preparing drawings of electrical circuits.
• Working knowledge and experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams.
• Working knowledge and experience applying and interpreting results from common electrical measurement instruments (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, oscilloscope, etc.).
• Working knowledge of National Electric Codes.
• Ability to estimate installation, operating and maintenance expenses associated with electrical and control systems.
• Complete work assignments with minimal supervision in an acceptable time frame.
• Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Office 365, Teams).

• May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
