$2,100.00 (80% of Category 6 on the Extra Duty Salary Schedule)
To help each participating student achieve a level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self‑esteem.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assists coaching staff in coaching individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
- Assists in planning and implementing practice programs; attends scheduled practices (1 to 2 ½ hours in length).
- Assists and follows the directions of the coaching staff in maintaining the safety conditions of the facility or area in which the assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
- Attends all games or events including culminating events scheduled by the coaching staff.
- Assists the coaching staff in enforcing discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times.
- Maintains competency in rules, rule interpretations, meet procedures, coaching techniques and general information about all aspects of the sport.
- Assists coaching staff in building a consistent and positive public communications procedure through the school and media to inform the parents and the general public about the program.
- Assists coaching staff in preparing and attending pre‑season whenever possible.
- Athletic Director has authority to make exceptions to above duties with prior approval as deemed necessary.
