JOB GOAL:
The Recreation Center Building Monitor ensures a safe, welcoming, and well-organized environment for all patrons by providing facility oversight, delivering high-quality customer service, enforcing policies and procedures, and supporting recreation programs and events. This position plays a key role in daily operations by maintaining building safety, assisting patrons, and supporting staff to ensure positive recreational experiences for students and community members.
And Responsibilities
- Monitor recreation center facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment for all users.
- Enforce facility rules, policies, and behavioral expectations in a fair, consistent, and professional manner.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting patrons, answering questions, and assisting with facility use and programming information.
- Supervise patrons during open recreation, programs, and special events to promote safety and appropriate conduct.
- Assist with setup, breakdown, and general support of recreation programs, classes, rentals, and special events.
- Conduct routine facility checks and report maintenance, safety, or equipment concerns to appropriate staff.
- Respond appropriately to incidents, injuries, or emergencies, including completing required reports and notifying supervisors.
- Provide front desk operations, including check-ins, reservations, phone inquiries, and basic administrative tasks.
- Collaborate with recreation staff, school personnel, and community partners to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Open and close the facility according to established procedures, as assigned.
- Model professionalism, teamwork, and positive communication at all times.
REQUIREMENTS: Must be 18 years old or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent
