Tax Associate

Overview

Join H&R Block as a Tax Associate and gain experience in tax processing and client interaction.

• Conduct client tax interviews face‑to‑face or virtually (video, phone, chat, email).
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns.
• Support business growth by generating client retention and offering additional products and services.
• Provide clients with IRS support and respond to client inquiries.
• Collaborate with team to support office priorities.
• Develop expertise in tax preparation and client interaction.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Previous customer service or retail experience.
• Experience working in fast‑paced environments.
• Ability to work minimum 25‑35 hours weekly during tax season up to 40 hours during peak weeks.
• Successful completion of H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course.
• Comfort with virtual tools (video, phone, chat).
• Effective communication in person, phone, writing.
• Meet all IRS and applicable state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
