The Georgia Pre-K Lead Teacher is responsible for implementing a high-quality, developmentally appropriate instructional program that promotes the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of all scholars. The teacher will plan lessons using the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS), maintain accurate records, and create a classroom environment that is warm, engaging, and conducive to learning.

• Develop and implement daily lesson plans aligned with GELDS and Georgia Pre-K guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with all Bright from the Start and Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) requirements.
• Foster an inclusive, nurturing, and engaging classroom culture that supports the diverse needs of all scholars.
• Maintain accurate attendance, assessment, and progress documentation as required by Georgia Pre-K and Lead Preparatory policies.
• Collaborate with assistant teachers to ensure instruction, classroom management, and scholar engagement are consistent and effective.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding scholar progress, classroom events, and ways to reinforce learning at home.
• Attend professional development, staff meetings, and training as required by DECAL and the organization.
• Model professionalism, ethical conduct, and leadership aligned with Lead Preparatory’s mission and values.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required).
• Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) certification in Birth–to–Five or related Early Childhood field (required).
• Knowledge and experience with GELDS, CLASS, and formative assessment tools such as Work Sampling Online.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom with structure, empathy, and enthusiasm.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
