Director Candidate Profile At LEAD Preparatory, we seek a Director who embodies reliability, professionalism, and a servant‑leadership mindset. Because our campuses operate in dynamic, fast‑paced environments, we need a solution‑oriented leader able to anticipate challenges, navigate shifting circumstances, and respond with clarity, composure, and actionable strategies.
We welcome candidates who can quickly adapt and work collaboratively with LEAD Preparatory’s teacher‑leaders and staff to design and implement high‑quality programs aligned with state and federal guidelines. This includes ensuring instructional excellence, compliance, and a seamless scholar experience that reflects our commitment to learning, love, and leadership.
The successful candidate will have prior classroom experience and bring exceptional oral and written communication skills, enabling them to communicate confidently with families, staff, and community partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise teacher‑leaders and childcare workers
- Hire and train new staff members and ensure all background checks and fingerprints have been processed
- Provide professional development opportunities for staff & facilitate trainings
- Conduct classroom observations to assess teacher‑leader performance
- Establish policies and communicate them to staff and parents
- Develop educational programs and standards
- Maintain instructional excellence
- Assist staff in communicating with parents and children
- Meet with parents and staff to discuss scholar performance
- Prepare budgets and allocate program funds
- Ensure facilities and materials are maintained and cleaned according to state & center guidelines
- Attract prospective clients
- Demonstrate flexibility
- Proven experience in leadership
- Impressive understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms and learning centers
- Excellent communication, and coaching skills
- Ability to partner with parents and community members to benefit all scholars
- Cool‑tempered, friendly, and dependable
- Balance between an inventive mind and a practical acumen
- Certification in child CPR
- BS/BA in education or relevant field Director Certification or Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred! Experience of at least 2 years in a Quality Rated, as well as a CACFP setting is a plus. First Aid/CPR required.
