Seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant for a fast-paced primary care practice. This position is responsible for assisting physicians, PAs, or NPs with clerical duties, patient flow, and clinical procedures for approximately 100 patients daily.
Type: Full Time
Location: On-site in Douglasville, GA
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flexible)
Pay: $20 - 24/hr
Qualifications:
Experience: 1 - 2 years of experience; primary care, OB, or Pediatrics experience is preferred.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent;
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Practice Management Systems and EHR;
Athena training is preferred.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of vital signs, patient intake, chart prep, vaccines, and point-of-care testing (Flu, Strep, COVID, A1C).
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare examination rooms and escort patients to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Obtain and document vital signs (BP, temp, pulse, height, weight) accurately in the EHR.
- Perform back-office duties including injections, vaccines, Spirometry, EKG, and point-of-care testing.
- Review and update medication lists and accurately document known allergies.
- Assist in ordering and maintaining medical supplies and stocking exam rooms.
- Handle clerical tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and providing scribing services.
- Process referrals and consult orders appropriately within the Practice Management System.
- Adhere to universal safety precautions when administering medications and disposing of medical waste.
